Contract for the Water Supply and Sanitation Adriatic Coast – Phase V Ulcinj Project signed

On 20 July 2022, there was a works contract signing with the first-ranked bidder MPP Jedinstvo A.D – Sevojno, Serbia, for the reconstruction and improvement of the water supply and sewerage infrastructure in Ulcinj.

The contract was signed on behalf of the Municipality of Ulcinj by Mr. Omer Bajraktari, Mayor of Ulcinj and Mr. Minir Karamanaga, the Secretary of the Secretariat for Communal Services and Environmental Protection and Mr. Sinisa Zoric, Executive Director, on behalf of Jedinstvo.

The signing was also attended by Ms. Ana Novakovic Djurovic, Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism of Montenegro; representatives of the German development bank(KfW), Mr. Arne Gooss Director of the Department for Communal Infrastructure, Mr. Stephan Raabe, Project Manager, Mr. Dirk Vallerien, Chief Engineer; Mr. Zeljko Uljarevic (KfW Montenegro); Mr. Gerald Eder, representative of the consulting company Hydrophil; representatives of the Project Executing Agency (PEA) -Vodacom from Tivat, Mr. Dragan Roganovic, Executive Director and Mr. Tonko Luksic, Project Manager for Ulcinj.

The contracted works are part of a loan arrangement between the Government of Montenegro, i.e. the Ministry of Finance, KfW, and Vodacom, for the project ‘Water Supply and Sanitation Adriatic Coast – Phase V,’ which was signed in 2013. Of the contracted funds, 20 million euros are allocated to addressing water supply and wastewater disposal issues in Ulcinj. The works are planned to begin in September.

The offical contract signing in Ulcinj was preceded by a meeting at the Government of Montenegro with Mr. Dritan Abazovic, Prime Minister, Mr. Goran Djurovic Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, and Mr. Fatmir Djeka, Minister of Human and Minority Rights.

The Prime Minister, Mr. Abazovic expressed his satisfaction with the final commencement of this project, noting that it is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Ulcinj in recent decades.

In addition to details regarding the aforementioned project in Ulcinj, Vodacom representatives Mr. Dragan Roganovic and Mr. Tonko Luksic informed the Prime Minister on a number of planned projects, highlighting those aimed at improving the water supply network of the Bay of Kotor and enhancing infrastructure in Tivat.
